Your lips will initially appear brighter, darker and more saturated than the final healed result — this is completely normal. Some swelling is common in the first 24–48 hours. Over the following 7–10 days your lips will feel dry and may flake as they heal — it's important not to pick at this. Your true, healed colour becomes visible from around 4–6 weeks, once the colour has softened by up to 40% from where it started.
